Philippe Jaroussky

Philippe Jaroussky has established itself as leading countertenors of the international music world and has won numerous awards. Jaroussky has a wide repertoire of baroque music, from Monteverdi, Sances y Rossi to Händel or Vivaldi. His technique is impressive and bolder shades. He has worked with the best baroque orchestras and has been praised in all the most prestigious concert halls in the world. He debuted at the Liceu the 2011-12 season with a concert.


Venice Baroque Orchestra

Founded in 1997 by Andrea Marcon, has performed in North America, Europe, South America, Japan and Korea. Of his opera and concert tours in recent seasons include touring the U.S. with Robert McDuffie , with Carmignola tour in the United States, Japan and Korea, and Enescu festivals, Gstaad and Dubrovnik , with Philip Glass Violin Concerto and Austria , Lisbon and France Patricia Petibon; La senna festeggiante, concerts and arias with Romina Basso (Amsterdam , Italy and Russia), Stabat Mater by Pergolesi (Champs Elysées in Paris ), Monteverdi's Vespers (Leipzig), and toured Austria , Germany and Switzerland and Magdalena Kožená , Stabat Mater and Vivaldi's Gloria ( Bruges) the Olimpiade pasticcio of Metastasio (London, Brussels, Paris, among others), with performances with Jaroussky in Europe. At La Fenice in Venice have played The Olimpiade by Cimarosa and Händel’s Siroe and Galuppi (as well the Brooklyn Academy of Music, New York).



Andrea Marcon (Conductor)
Born in Treviso, he studied at the Schola Cantorum in Basel. He has performed at the most prestigious stages of Europe, the U.S., Canada and Asia. He founded the Venice Baroque Orchestra (1997), who rediscovers the baroque operas such as Cavalli, Händel’s Siroe, Cimarosa’s The Olimpiade and Galuppi. He has conducted symphony radio in Cologne and Berlin, Danish Radio Orchestra, Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Mozarteum Camerata Salzburg, Lucerne Symphony, Essen and Bremen. Stand his interpretations of Il Trionfo della Musica e della Poesia Marcello, Orlando Furioso, Atenaide Tito Manlio, Gloria, Magnificat and Vivaldi's Juditha Triumphans, and La Calisto by Cavalli Giasone, Orfeo Monteverdi Vespers. Is guest conductor of the Basel Theatre and since 2012, artistic director of the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada.

He debuted at the Liceu "Verdi Concert" (2009-10).
