Petrushka, the production we present to you, is a dance and puppet show based on the music of Igor Stravinsky, which is designed with all audiences in mind. It tells the story of Petrushka (the short for Peter in Russian), a traditional marionette that performed on the streets and in the squares of Russia, which one day comes to life and falls in love.
Our show is based on the musical composition created by the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky in 1911. Originally a ballet, it tells the story of the puppet Petrushka at a carnival fair in Saint Petersburg. However, our production, which combines dance and puppetry while respecting the plot of the original libretto, moves the action to a carnival fair in a Mediterranean town.
Though Stravinsky composed the ballet a hundred years ago, its magic remains intact.
