One of the biggest figures of Flamenco

Miguel Poveda has become one of the greatest names of flamenco and Spanish song. He is only 40 years old and he is already celebrating 25 years of musical career. His trip began in the flamenco clubs of Barcelona and his first award was the prestigious “Lámpara Minera”, won in the Festival de Cante de La Union. His brilliant career would begin with "Wind ", edited by the renowned independent label New Media.

His status as a payo and a Catalan helped him to approaching other styles, daring even with "Desglaç", which revisits Catalan texts mixing flamenco, tango, bolero and jazz. His heterodoxy has also led him towards orchestral music or the Pakistani qawwali music and has also collaborated with a long list of artists including Isabel Pantoja, Pedro Guerra, Mariza, Zenet, Perico Sambeat or Marina Rossell. His last studio album, "arteSano" is made with the participation of Paco de Lucia and Manolo Sanlucar.

To celebrate his 25 years career he offered, on June 21, a special concert at Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid, in which he was accompanied by Joan Manuel Serrat, Maria Dolores Pradera, Carmen Linares and Lole Montoya. Now he has prepared another very special anniversary evening at the level of the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
