-Opera in the Foyer-
One-act opera. Libretto by Martin Crimp. Music by George Benjamin. First performed on 22 November 2006 at the Opéra Bastille. First performance in Spain. The programme will be completed by Fantasia VII, Flight i Viola, Viola.
In this «lyric tale in two parts for soprano, mezzo-soprano and ensemble of fifteen players», the two singers play all the roles with support from the instruments - cimbalom, violas, clarinets, flute, cello and others- which are part of the stage set and conjure up a brilliant and spellbindingly atmospheric sound and great dramatic tension. The plot is an intelligent reinterpretation of The Pied Piper of Hamelin.
