Lord Byron was written by the Catalan composer Agustí Charles in response to a commission from the Liceu and the Staatstheater Darmstadt. This will be its Spanish premiere. Charles was a disciple of Miquel Roger, Albert Sardà and Josep Soler before continuing his studies in Europe and America. His brilliant curriculum as a composer includes numerous major prizes. One of them, from the Association of Spanish Symphony Orchestras (AEOS), was awarded for Seven Looks, which was staged throughout Spain between 2004 and 2008. He is also a distinguished musicologist. He teaches at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya. His music has been performed all over the world.
