Rolando Villazón has a firm reputation as one of the most celebrated lyric tenors in opera, appreciated for his magnificent voice, his mastery of the art of singing, and his pleasant personality, which immediately strikes a bond with the audience. 

At the Liceu he was enthusiastically acclaimed as Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore (2005) and scored another major success opposite soprano Natalie Dessay in Manon (2007). Both productions have been made into successful recordings.  He has also triumphed in recitals and has an extensive repertory.
