Roger Guasch (Barcelona, 1966) holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the Institut Químic de Sarrià and has obtained various post-graduate qualifications at the ESADE and IESE business schools.
He is an expert in business management, with a long career and a thorough understanding of a range of businesses, both multinational and family-run, in different sectors. He also has considerable experience in dealing with government organizations and government-owned companies.
His professional background has given him extensive knowledge of all fields of endeavour and an overall, strategic business vision that focusses on results and the customer. He has demonstrated experience in restoring viability, in organizational, operational and financial restructuring, and in technological, product-oriented and commercial innovation.
In the previous stage of his career, he became director general of the mutual health care society Grup Aliança in 2011 and then Sole Provisional Administrator of the group following the Catalan government bail-out in 2012. In both capacities he designed and carried out the project to restore the group's viability and sustainability.
Having put its finances back into a healthy position, he led the merger with Mútua Divina Pastora. Prior to this, Roger Guasch had occupied managerial posts in other companies including Chupa Chups and Solving Efeso Consulting. He is known for his team management skills and negotiating abilities in situations in which businesses undergoing a crisis need to change and innovate.
He was appointed General Manager of the Gran Teatre del Liceu on 4 October 2013.
