Moscow-born bass Alexander Vinogradov made his debut at the age of 21 at the Bolshoi Theatre as Oroveso (Norma). Since then he has worked with such distinguished conductors as Gustavo Dudamel, Daniel Barenboim, Kent Nagano, Vladimir Jurowski, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Lorin Maazel, Mariss Jansons and Zubin Mehta. His latest engagements have taken him to Los Angeles, New York, Munich, Hamburg, Marseille and elsewhere.
He is noted for the role of Escamillo (Carmen) and for operas including Lucia di Lammermoor and Luisa Miller.
His first visit to the Gran Teatre del Liceu was on the 2019/20 season with Puccini's Turandot.
