The Gran Teatre del Liceu, founded in 1847 at La Rambla in Barcelona, is an opera house that over the years has maintained its status as a cultural and artistic center. It is one of the symbols of the city.

It is currently a publicly owned theater (Generalitat de Catalunya, Barcelona City Council, Barcelona Provincial Council and the Ministry of Culture and Sports) managed by the Gran Teatre del Liceu Foundation, which incorporates, in addition to the aforementioned institutions, the Patronage Council and the Society of the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

The Liceu currently collaborates with the following associations related to the world of music and arts:

Amics del Liceu

Collaborates with the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the organization of cultural activities to support the Liceu and promote opera.

Opera Europa

It is the leading organization of professional opera companies and festivals in Europe.

Ópera XXI

It is an association of theatres, festivals and seasons of opera in Spain, promoted by the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Teatro Real.
