Le Concert d’Astrée
Temporada 2018-2019 / Concerts / Desperate Lovers

Handel's vision of love expressed by specialists in baroque music.

A concert made up of some of the most fascinating arias from operas by George Frideric Handel. Le Concert d’Astrée, under its founder-conductor Emmanuele Haïm, presents this programme of Baroque orchestral and vocal music starring soprano Sandrine Piau and counter-tenor Tim Mead, both of them authorities in the style. The pivotal theme is impossible love affairs, a key ingredient of opera seria in the early eighteen hundreds.
