Changes in mobility
Currently, traffic heading towards the sea is not allowed on La Rambla due to the ongoing transformation works, which have now entered their second phase. Only residents, buses, taxis, and vehicles accessing hotels or performing urban goods distribution (DUM) during permitted hours are allowed to travel uphill between Colom and Plaça de Catalunya, on the Gothic Quarter side of La Rambla. This uphill traffic flow is now permanent.
These mobility disruptions require modifications to bus lines V13 and 59 and the night bus N9.
- Line 59 now goes up the Rambla permanently along the roadway on the Gothic Quarter side, but on the way down it temporarily runs along Via Laietana.
- Line V13 starts and ends at Plaça de Catalunya.
- The night bus N9 starts and ends at Plaça de Catalunya.
