Polish-born Kurzak began taking piano and violin lessons at the age of seven. She made her operatic debut when she was 21 and since then has sung at the world's leading opera houses in cities including Milan, New York, London and Paris. Her expressive voice has equipped her for roles ranging from Olympia (Les contes d’Hoffmann) to Gilda (Rigoletto), via Violetta (La traviata) and Adina (L’elisir d’amore). She records for DECCA and has worked with conductors such as Ivor Bolton, Bruno Campanella and James Conlon.
