Born in Vilnius, Aušrine Stundyte studied singing at the Lithuanian Academy of Music with Irena Milkeviciute and at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Leipzig with Helga Forner. She began her career with performances at the Leipzig Opera and as a member of the ensemble at the Cologne Opera, appearing as a guest in Essen, Lübeck, Lisbon, and as Sieglinde in Die Walküre in Palermo. Her debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2020 in the title role of Elektra, directed by Franz Welser-Möst, has been one of the artist's most prominent projects in recent seasons, highly acclaimed by both the press and the audience. She returned to Salzburg to perform as Judit in Bluebeard's Castle in the summer of 2022. Among her recent engagements we find Dido and Aeneas and Erwartung at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Katja Kabanova at the Bergen National Opera, Erwartung in Parma, Elektra at the Vienna State Opera, Tosca at the Royal Opera House in London, and Bluebeard's Castle at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. She makes her debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
