The career of this highly successful tenor has taken him to the world's leading opera houses in cities such as London, Milan, Venice and Rome. He is one of the few singers to have played the character Otello concurrently in both Verdi and Rossini's versions of Shakespeare's tragedy, an achievement which boosted his reputation for dramatic roles. The conductors he has worked with include Antonio Pappano, Zubin Mehta and Valery Gergiev. In the Critics' Awards held by Amics del Liceu, he won the jury's special prize for his twin triumphs in Norma at the Liceu and Otello at the Peralada Festival during the 2014/15 season.
