IT Dansa, the young dance company of the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, once again presents its proposal for our young audience. This is an educational project of the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona created in 1996 for the professionalisation and further training of young male and female dancers.
Biterna is a choreography created especially for the opening performance of the 33rd Dansàneu, the Festival of Cultures of the Pyrenees of the Valls d’Àneu by dancer and choreographer Aleix Martínez. The title of the piece refers to the imaginary place where, according to a medieval belief, witches gathered to worship the devil.
Minus 16, by Israeli choreographer Ohad Naharin, moves through music ranging from cha-cha-cha and mambo to popular Israeli songs; tunes that feel familiar and very enjoyable. The piece quickly passes through various emotional states, from joy to despair, from intimacy to group fun.
Under the direction of Catherine Allard, the young dancers of IT Dansa deliver a performance full of vitality and high artistic quality that will make the Auditori de Sant Cugat vibrate. An enjoyable and dynamic programme with a very contemporary and appealing language capable of awakening interest in dance in anyone.
