The major highlight of the new season is the return of Liceu OPERA+. The Liceu's digital streaming platform is back with exciting updates and the most advanced technology, offering an immersive and accessible experience for everyone. New Liceu OPERA+ subscribers will enjoy a total of 12 titles, 6 from the 24/25 season and 6 from the 25/26 season.
The digital subscription includes 6 major productions from the 24/25 season, such as Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk and Lohengrin, led by the Liceu; the co-productions La sonnambula and Rusalka, making their debut at the Theatre, and the already classic Madama Butterfly. Audiences will also be able to relive one of this season’s greatest successes, La traviata, featuring the outstanding voices of Nadine Sierra and Xabier Anduaga. The edited versions of these operas will be available with all their features, such as multi-camera selection, musical and artistic commentary, and on-screen score, allowing unlimited viewing for subscribers.
The first live opera to be broadcast on the digital platform will be Rusalka (on July 4), closing the 24/25 season. The premiere of the 25/26 season will feature the live broadcast of The Cunning Little Vixen (30/9/25), followed by L’elisir d’amore (5/12/25), Tristan und Isolde (31/1/26), La Gioconda (26/2/26), Manon Lescaut (29/3/26), and Le nozze di Figaro (13/6/26). All broadcasts will be delivered in the highest image and sound quality: 7 4K cameras and Dolby 5.1-compatible audio will guarantee an immersive experience, both live and in the edited version, which will include exclusive features. During live broadcasts, there will be a host to guide viewers before and during intermissions, behind-the-scenes coverage with a backstage camera, a live chat, and subtitles in Catalan, Spanish, English, and the original language of the opera.
Liceu OPERA+ enhances opera accessibility, removing barriers like price and distance, and fosters the international reach of the artistic program while expanding the opera-going experience. The digital subscription, which includes all 12 titles, will have a promotional price of €60 until July 31. After this date, the cost will be €90.
