At the start of his career, Canadian bass-baritone Daniel Okulitch won a number of contests, notably first prize in the George London Foundation Competition. On the strength of this he made his debut at Opera Ontario as Don Giovanni and since then has sung in opera houses in Paris, Milan, Buenos Aires, Dallas, Washington, Los Angeles and other cities.

The roles of Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Joseph De Rocher (Dead Man Walking) and Olin Blitch (Susannah) are part of his repertory.

This will be his first Liceu performance.
