The Gran Teatre del Liceu presents a new chamber music series featuring musicians from its Orchestra and Choir, taking place at Teatre de Sarrià on May 2 and 3. Staying true to a well-established artistic line, the performers of the Liceu present four programmes that highlight closeness, complicity, and the expressive richness of this format, offering a direct and immersive musical experience.
Chamber music proposes a way of listening from within: a space of attention and constant dialogue between performers, where every gesture and musical line gains specific weight. This proximity turns each concert into a unique experience, marked by intensity and immediate communication with the audience.

The series spans a wide stylistic range, from the Baroque to the 20th century, highlighting the sensitivity and artistic excellence of the musicians of the Gran Teatre del Liceu. Throughout the weekend, Teatre de Sarrià will become a meeting point for chamber music and voice lovers, with diverse programmes and top-level performers.

On Saturday, May 2 at 12 p.m., Diàlegs barrocs opens the series with a journey through 18th-century repertoire featuring works by Pezold, Fasch, Purcell, and Schaffrath. The programme includes Liebeslieder Walzer, op. 52 and Neue Liebeslieder Walzer, op. 65.

On Sunday, May 3 at 12 p.m., From voice to strings offers a dialogue between voice and string quartet with Alexandra Zabala (soprano), Sergey Maiboroda and Oleg Shport (violins), Salomé Osca (viola), and Paula Lavarrás (cello). The programme includes Arianna a Naxos by Haydn, Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen by Mahler, and Siete canciones populares españolas by Falla.

The series concludes on Sunday at 6 p.m. with Stravinsky VS Marsalis, a programme contrasting Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du soldat with Wynton Marsalis’s A Fiddler’s Tale. Performers include Oleguer Beltrán (violin), Javier Serrano (double bass), Mª José Riello (bassoon), Javi Cantos (cornet), Juan González (trombone), Ausiàs Garrigós (clarinet), and Enric Albiol (percussion), with narrator Joan Rigat.
