Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition

The Symphony Orchestra of the Liceu at the Auditori de Girona

With the well-known orchestration by Maurice Ravel, the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu interprets Pictures at an Exhibition under the baton of Susanna Mälkki. 

The Finnish genius built a musical monument and his only composition for a solo instrument: of virtuosic tradition and ruthless beauty, the violin concerto sublimates all of Sibelius's inner demons at the time of its composition. 

With the same sublime inspiration, Mussorgsky painted with music the landscapes and drawings of the posthumous exhibition of his great friend Víktor Hartmann. 

With the well-known orchestration by Maurice Ravel, the Pictures at an Exhibition will close a spectacular evening by the hand of the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the baton of Susanna Mälkki.
