Christian Miedl's recent engagements include Der Prinz von Homburg by Henze, as well as the role of the Father in Hänsel und Gretel by Humperdinck at the Stuttgart State Opera, Orlando by Neuwirth at the Vienna State Opera, Gunther in Götterdämmerung by Wagner at the Staatstheater Braunschweig in Brunswick, Mahler's Symphony No. 8 (Symphony of a Thousand) at the Munich Philharmonie am Gasteig, Jeanne d'Arc by Braunfels at the Oper Köln in Cologne, Belle Helene by Offenbach at the Hamburg State Opera, Penthesilea at the Theater Bonn, Weisse Rose by Zimmermann in Tokyo including a CD production, as well as recordings for his solo album Songs of the Night featuring songs from the Romantic, Modern, and Avant-garde eras. Throughout his career, he has appeared on stages such as Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Wiener Festwochen, and at opera houses in Lyon, Frankfurt, Basel, Malmö, Seattle, and Karlsruhe. His operatic repertoire includes, among others, most of the central roles from the classical and romantic periods of Mozart, Rossini, Wagner, and Strauss. Among other awards, he received the Oratori-Lied prize at the 40th International Tenor Viñas Singing Competition in Barcelona. He makes his stage debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
