Trained under Ana Luisa Chova, Montserrat Caballé, Elena Obraztsova, and Wolfram Rieger, Marta Matheu has performed in theaters and auditoriums such as the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Philharmonie in Paris, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

In 2008, she received various awards from the Francisco Viñas International Singing Competition for her interpretations of Mozart, Puccini, Rossini, and Wagner. Her recording in the leading role (Francina) of Rafael Martínez Valls' Cançó d’amor i de guerra has also earned recognition.

She divides her career among opera, oratorio, and lieder. Collaborating with maestro Jordi Savall on various European stages, she has presented works by Bach. In the symphonic and oratorio realms, she has performed, among others, Beethoven's Ninth and Mahler's Second with conductors like Gustavo Dudamel and Victor Pablo Pérez.

At the Gran Teatre del Liceu, she has participated in concerts such as El Pesebre (2015/16) and two editions of Off Liceu-Diálogos Musicales (2016/17). Additionally, she has sung in Norma (2021/22) and 7 Deaths of Maria Callas (2022/23).
