Saioa Hernández estudied with the tenor Santiago Calderón and later with sopranos Montserrat Caballé (with whom she prepared her debuts as Norma and Imogene in Il pirata) and Renata Scotto. Since then, she has continued to study and refine her singing with Francesco Pio Galasso. 

She has been awarded the Gold Medal for Fine Arts Merit in 2021, received a Lyrical Oscar for Best Soprano of the Year 2021, and was named Best Female Voice of 2016 by the Spanish Lyrical Association. Additionally, she has won prestigious singing awards such as Manuel Ausensi, Jaume Aragall, and Vincenzo Bellini. 

In her repertoire, you can find roles such as Francesca da Rimini, Madama Butterfly, Odabella (Attila), Gioconda, Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Abigaille (Nabucco), Norma, Tosca, Violetta (La Traviata), Leonora (La Forza del Destino), Aida, among others. 

She has performed at renowned theaters such as Teatro Real in Madrid, Wiener Staatsoper, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Staatsoper Berlin, Sydney Opera House, Opéra National de Paris, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, and more. 

She made her debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the 2018/19 season with La Gioconda and has returned with Il Trovatore (2022/23).
