The Gran Teatre del Liceu will host on Thursday, 19 March, a recital by Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez, accompanied by pianist Vincenzo Scalera, with whom he has maintained a long artistic collaboration. The program spans different styles and composers, from Mozart and Rossini to the French repertoire of Massenet and Gounod, and also includes zarzuela arias by Chapí, Vives, and Serrano, before culminating with Verdi. An evening that highlights the tenor’s versatility and vocal condition.
From 17 March to 1 April, the Gran Teatre del Liceu presents Manon Lescaut, the first great success of Giacomo Puccini. Àlex Ollé’s contemporary production, conducted by Josep Pons, moves the drama to present-day Europe and portrays Manon as an undocumented immigrant. With Asmik Grigorian and Joshua Guerrero leading the cast, the Liceu offers an intense and moving operatic experience that connects with the full emotional power of Puccini’s music.

More than 300 students from Alt Urgell and Cerdanya have visited the Gran Teatre del Liceu to attend the children’s performance 'La cuina de Rossini' as part of the Liceu als centres project. The Gran Teatre del Liceu brings the Cor del Liceu outside the theatre with two concerts on April 11 and 24 at the Teatre Auditori Sant Cugat and the Teatre L’Artesà del Prat de Llobregat. In these two events, the Cor del Liceu, together with Veus – Cor Infantil Amics de la Unió de Granollers, perform 'Carmina Burana', the scenic cantata that Carl Orff composed in 1936 from a collection of medieval poems. 'La Gioconda', by Amilcare Ponchielli, returns to the Gran Teatre del Liceu from February 17 to March 2 in a production by Romain Gilbert and under the baton of Daniel Oren. This major work of Italian Romantic opera features a classical staging set in 17th-century Venice and an international cast led by Saioa Hernández and Michael Fabiano. The opera also stands out for the central role of the ballet and the famous 'Dance of the Hours', and will be available in a digital premiere on LiceuOPERA+ on March 8
The Gran Teatre del Liceu digitally premieres 'Tristan und Isolde' by Richard Wagner on Sunday, February 15 at 6 PM on LiceuOPERA+. With stage direction by Bárbara Lluch, Susanna Mälkki leading the Orchestra, and the voices of Lise Davidsen and Clay Hilley, the production offers a unique cinematic experience. Davidsen’s world debut as Isolde, ahead of the Metropolitan Opera in New York, marks an operatic milestone.
