  • Liceu Simfònic brings together around 30,000 people on Barcelona's beach. Josep Pons and the Gran Teatre del Liceu Orchestra present a free symphonic concert by the sea featuring works by Ravel and Tchaikovsky; a magical, fully accessible evening that fulfils its goal of bringing the great classics of music history to audiences of all kinds.
  • The Gran Teatre del Liceu closes its opera season with Verdi’s 'Falstaff', running from 9 to 19 July. This acclaimed comic opera, presented for the first time in Laurent Pelly’s production, marks the farewell of Josep Pons as the Liceu’s Music Director after 14 years. The eight performances will be led by the renowned baritones Luca Salsi and Ambrogio Maestri.
  • Within the Festival Grec programme, 'Òh!pera' celebrates its fifth edition from July 2 to 5 at Fabra i Coats. The Liceu and the DHub project premieres three new micro-operas created by young composers, librettists and stage directors, reaffirming its commitment to contemporary creation and new scenic languages.
  • The Gran Teatre del Liceu presents 'La rosa dels set pètals', the second community-creation opera of OPERA PRIMA. Co-created with the social and cultural fabric of Sant Andreu, the production will culminate in three performances in June 2027 and reinforces the Liceu’s commitment to participation and cultural inclusion.
  • Divina Seguros and the Fundació del Gran Teatre del Liceu have signed an agreement to promote access to culture and support talent through programmes such as Liceu Apropa, LiceuAprèn, LiceUnder35 and Òh!pera. The partnership reinforces both organisations’ commitment to inclusion, creativity and cultural participation.

    'Aci, Galatea e Polifemo' will be performed for the first time at the Liceu in concert version on 16 June, with René Jacobs conducting the Kammerorchester Basel. The cantata by Händel (1708) tells the story of the love between Acis and Galatea and the jealousy of Polyphemus. Featuring Kateryna Kasper, Sophie Harmsen and Christian Senn. A unique opportunity at the Liceu to rediscover Händel.
  • On 8 and 9 July, at 21 h, Sant Sebastià beach will host Clàssica a la Platja, free concerts by the Gran Teatre del Liceu, L’Auditori and the Palau de la Música Catalana with Barcelona Obertura, Ajuntament de Barcelona and Fundació “la Caixa”. On the 8th, Liceu Simfònic with Josep Pons; on the 9th, the OBC with Ludovic Morlot and symphonic repertoire by Rakhmàninov, Dvořák and Txaikovski. Capacity for 22,000 people and broadcast on Betevé and Catalunya Música.
  • The Liceu and the Catalan Institute of Health (ICS) are launching “Liceu i Salut”, a pilot project that integrates cultural participation into primary care centres (CAP) in Ciutat Vella to promote emotional well-being and combat social isolation. The initiative combines sessions in primary care centres with activities at the Liceu, highlighting the potential of music and the arts as a tool for community health and social cohesion.
  • The Gran Teatre del Liceu premieres a new production of 'Le nozze di Figaro' by Mozart from June 5 to 21, with stage direction by Marta Pazos and musical direction by Giovanni Antonini. An exuberant and colorful visual proposal inspired by Susan Sontag’s 'camp' universe, featuring a major international cast and a special magazine dedicated to the opera’s creative process.

    Liceu premieres Al cor del Liceu, a new immersive family show that celebrates the human voice through the expressive power of the Cor del Liceu. Directed by Marc Rosich, it will be performed at the Foyer on May 30 and 31 as part of the 25th anniversary of El Petit Liceu, reinforcing its educational commitment. The production combines music, movement and dramaturgy in an experience designed to move audiences of all ages.
